Ruslan Salei

2002-2003 Anaheim Mighty Ducks Set 3/Playoffs

Documentation:
MeiGray documents accompany this jersey with the MeiGray tag in the jersey hem and on the LOA reading A07340.

Tags:
In the neckline there is a "made in Canada" size tag denoting that the jersey is a size 56. An airknit wash tag is in the jersey interior.

Patches:
This jersey contains the CCM patch on the jersey back above the nameplate and the round Anaheim Mighty Ducks patches on the shoulders.

Nameplate:
The nameplate is clean. Purple letters are stitched onto a white nameplate which is stitched onto the jersey back.

Hemline:
The inside of the hemline features the MeiGray serial number patch, numbered A07340. A hack mark on the outside of the jersey hem just behind the MeiGray patch has broken through the fabric and affected the patch. The patch shows an abrasion right on the "2" where it reads "2002-2003 Season." The NHL shield is located on the back of the jersey hem. Some good pilling is also evident on the stitching for the jersey hem.

Neck:
The neck is clean but seems to be a little stretched out.

Fight Strap:
The fight strap shows the slightest salt and rust.

Left Sleeve and Shoulder:
The left sleeve/shoulder shows tremendous game use and abuse. At least two team repairs, the larger one appears to be a composite of two separate repairs, are visible on the grey and white stripes of the elbow. A small board burn is visible on the green of the jersey cuff and several unrepaired holes and abrasions are evident throughout. Some blackening is visible to the left of the "24" and on the "2." Some additional blackening can be viewed to the right of the numbers as well.

Right Sleeve and Shoulder:
The right sleeve/shoulder is absolutely shredded! No fewer than five team repairs are evident on the green jersey cuff and adjacent grey stripe. The longest repair measures about 4 inches long. A two-inch slice is visible to the left of the long repair. Broken fabric, unrepaired holes, and small board burns are also prevalent on the lower half of the sleeve. The jersey sleeve becomes cleaner as you move up towards the shoulders, but there are a few unrepaired holes and some tiny abrasions. A small transfer of either pipe or board paint is visible on the "2" of the sleeve numbers.

Jersey Front:
The jersey front is comparably clean. There are a few faint stick marks on the lower portion of the sweater. Some faint blackening is evident to the right of the jersey crest and above the crest to the right. A small black mark can be seen to the left of the crest.

Jersey Back:
The lower portion of the jersey back features a bold hack mark on the lower left-hand side, which would make a great tool for a photo match. A large diagonal line, which is very faint, created from a transfer of pipe paint, can be seen upon close inspection of the jersey to the right of the numbers.

Other Notes:
There are some who consider Ruslan Salei one of the nastiest players in the game. The abuse that this jersey has taken certainly points to the physical nature of his game. This jersey, although it has the MeiGray patch, was acquired via trade from Milt Byron.
